Worm Grunting is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Armando González Sosto. He has released the new single, 'Purple', which is the second single from his upcoming debut EP. Having already demonstrated the submerged melodies and clattering percussion of his previous single 'Lost Whale', Armando expands the scope of his sound further with analogue arpeggiated synths at the forefront of the new track; skittish rhythms, glitchy electronic textures and spectral vocals are pulled together by pulsing basslines. The track has a warm and distinct atmosphere, with Armando's skills as a songwriter, musician and producer aligning to create what is shaping up to be an intriguing and impressive debut. Alongside his solo work and recording other artists, Armando also produces sessions for a live series from his studio in collaboration with video artist Sunni called Cable Street Sessions which has already featured artists such as Scrounge and Lou Terry, with a second series out late this year. Check out the accompanying surreal and sketchy animated video for 'Purple' by artist Ollie Hudson. - Toby Evans-Jesra
